Officially organized as a congregation 1 January 1956, St Paul’s was hard at work building a church within three months. This Lexington congregation was founded in 1954 when St Paul’s of Chenoa decided to reach out to the area and provide Lutheran services in Lexington.
Worship services and Sunday School classes were held in the Lexington School at first. Eager to have their own house of worship, by pitching in and working together these members were able to complete their building and hold dedication services before 1956 ended.
Early on this church shared a pastor with the Chenoa Lutheran Church until 1987 when each congregation hired their own. Through the years the Lutheran Church building grew as did the programs that this church offered. They celebrated their 10th anniversary, the 25th, the 35th and then in 2006, they celebrated 50 years of their presence in Lexington. In 2020 this active church located at 107 East Chatham continues to provide Lutheran services to the Lexington community.
